ReplyDeleteOk silly question maybe ---but do they call them Charter JOhn Moor and Charter so and so because they came over here under on the agreement of the charter from the king?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's an old term that you still see used, especially in Derry and Londonderry where there were many, many men named John Moore!
