Tombstone Tuesday- Hollis, New Hampshire

Hollis, New Hampshire Congregational Church

The Congregational Church cemetery is located directly behind the church.  The graves are right up to the foundations and chimney.  Below you can see the Emerson family plot.  Reverend Daniel Emerson (1716 - 1801) was the founder of the church, and brother to my 6x great grandfather Brown Emerson (1704 - 1774).  I previously blogged about the Reverend Emerson's ledger stone at this link: http://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com/2010/02/tombstone-tuesday.html    Today's post is about some of the other Emerson tombstones.

  1. What a beautiful picture of the Congregational Church! My brother's Congregational Church in Castalia looks almost jsut like the picture you have featured...with a slightly different steeple! Here in Ohio we have deep New England roots!
