Do you know the location of weathervane #86? Scroll down to see the answer.
This ram weathervane is on display at the Millyard Museum in Manchester, New Hampshire. It once stood atop the #1 Manchester Mill of the Amoskeag Millyard buildings. This mill was built in 1855 and stood between 200 Bedford Street (the address of the museum) and 88 Commercial Street. These mill buildings were textile factories, and the ram is a symbol of the woolen cloth once woven here. The weathervane dates from the original construction date of the building. It was once on display at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, but is now on loan to the Millyard Museum.
