Photo Friday ~ Dinner with the family in Madrid, Spain

This photo is from my mother-in-law's collection of photos.  It was dated 1971 on the back.  I know everyone in this photo, even though some of them have passed away since the image was taken.  Vincent was only about ten years old here.  Although he was born in New York City, Vincent was very lucky because his parents returned to Spain every year to visit family.  He grew up knowing all his cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents back in Madrid and in the villages. We still visit them every time we return to Spain.

From left to right
Consuelo - Vincent's grandmother
José María -  Vincent's cousin
Vincent - in the green shirt with a tie
Tia Toni -  José María's mother
Tia Luisa-  José María's grandmother, sister to Consuelo

In the back
Marta - José María's little sister
Tio José Manuel -  the son of Tia Luisa, father to José María and Marta

I love that you can see all the tapas and aperitivos on the table.  There is a tortilla, a plate of jamon serrano, a bowl of olives, and of course wine and seltzer water. It looks like the kids were drinking orange soda.  I wonder what they had for a main course?
