Every Wednesday I post a photograph of a weathervane, usually from the Nutfield area of New Hampshire (Derry, Londonderry or Windham), but sometimes there is an unusual or historic weathervane from somewhere else in New England. Today's weathervane was spotted in Maine.
Do you know the location of weather vane #79? Scroll down to see the answer!

They have a wonderful handtub (hand pumped "engine") out front of this fire station in a glass enclosure. It probably dates back to post colonial times when the Nutfield settlers of Belfast ME took refuge in towns like Rockland during the British occupation. Some may have stayed on in Rockland. Pictures of the "General Berry" and a nice hose reel can be seen at the Exeter Fire Museum's facebook page
