Weathervane Wednesday ~ A Familiar Grasshopper

Weathervane Wednesday is an on-going series of photographs I post weekly.  I started by publishing weather vanes from the Londonderry area, but now I've been finding interesting weather vanes all across New England.  Sometimes my weather vanes are whimsical, or historical, but all are interesting. Often, my readers tip me off to some very unique and unusual weather vanes, too! Today's weather vane is from Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts.

Do you know the location of weather vane #164? Scroll down to the bottom to see the answer!

Today's weather vane is located on Peele Square in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, a building or two away from where my aunt lives.  This weather vane is right on the creek that empties out into Manchester harbor.  It looks like the famous grasshopper weather vane at Faneuil Hall.  If you are near this building you will have a great view of three weather vanes- the grasshopper, the weathercock atop First Parish Church and the wonderful old fashioned fire engine on top of the old Fire House Museum.

I previously blogged about the grasshopper weather vane at Faneuil Hall at this link:

You can see the First Parish weathercock at last week's post here:

The Fire House Museum weather vane is at this link:
