Tombstone Tuesday ~ Elizabeth Miltimor, died 1789, Londonderry, New Hampshire

of her age.

Elisabeth Aiken, born about 1725 in Northern Ireland, was the daughter of James Aiken.  She was the wife of James Miltimore, also of Northern Ireland.  They are both buried at Forest Hill Cemetery. They had seven children- William, Daniel, James, Janet, William, Jane and Elizabeth.

Their son, Rev. James Miltimore graduated Dartmouth College in 1774 and studied theology with his pastor, Reverend David MacGregor of Londonderry.  He was called to be the preacher at Stratham, New Hampshire in 1786, where he stayed for 22 years.  He went to preach at Belleville, Newbury (now Newburyport), Massachusetts from 1808 until 1831.
