Weathervane Wednesday ~ A Grand Eagle

This is part of an on-going series of photographs of weather vanes in the Nutfield, New Hampshire area (formerly Derry, Londonderry and parts of Hudson, Windham and Manchester).  Some of the weather vanes are historical, some are whimsical, and all are interesting.

Do you know the location of weather vane #64?   Scroll down to the bottom to see the answer!

This shiny copper or brass eagle is atop one of the cupolas at the shopping plaza on Cobbett's Pond Road in Windham, New Hampshire.  It looks fairly new.  There is another weather vane on the other wing of the shopping center that is missing it's figure on top, and all that is up there now are the cardinal points N, S, E, and W.  This is a very grand eagle, looking like it's ready to attack or pluck up some unlucky prey as it is in flight.  It's claws are spread in a menacing fashion, and I haven't seen this on any of the other eagle weather vanes I've photographed nearby.
