Treasure Chest Thursday- A Day at the Beach circa 1925
My great grandparents, Florence Etta Hoogerzeil (1871- 1941) and Arthur Treadwell Hitchings (1868-1937) at Crane's Beach, Ipswich, Massachusetts. This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Massachusetts. I love how people dressed for the beach in the 1920s. They must have had sand in their shoes. I'm sure that flip-flops hadn't been invented yet!

Love this pic! Have some of my own and will post - such modesty, right?!
ReplyDeleteNice photo. Any of the fabulous beach...one of my favorites as well.
ReplyDeleteLovely. You can feel the wind. And sand in the shoes meant finding bits of sand in the car or carpet months later and remembering the day at the beach...
