The Olsen Family 1948 Everett, Massachusetts
Bill age 4, John age 5, Peggy was 6
Bill Olsen of Plymouth, Massachusetts saw my post yesterday about the Wilkinson Boys posing for the goat cart photo, and he sent me his photo. We are pretty sure it is the same goat cart, and probably the same photographer traveling around the Boston area (I don't know why it says Boston on one cart and not on the other, but I'm sure they are the same cart). We would like to know if anyone out there has a similar photograph, and if anyone knows the identity of the photographer.

How charming are these photos. You must have had a lot of chuckles by looking at your dad in the cart. I would say, same cart and maybe same goat. Very sweet. Thanks Heather.
ReplyDeleteI have heard stories of photographers going through Detroit neighborhoods with a pony and taking photographs of children. This looks like the same thing.
ReplyDeleteNot sure how long goats live, but my husband looked closely and noticed that either the harness was a different one, or put on the goat differently.
Very interesting to see both of these!
I think both goats certainly knew how to pose! This photo hangs over Mom's sofa, and it has a rounded, bubble shaped glass so it's hard to photograph it without the glare. I love that both Jackie and Richard are in dresses!
