A New Veteran's Honor Roll in Londonderry

Just in time for Veteran's Day, a new Honor Roll was recently inaugurated at Londonderry High School on 28 September 2012.  Many schools have honor roll plaques on the wall to remember their alumni who have been killed in action, but here in Londonderry Eagle Scout Sean Cardwell of Troop 109 has created a memorial garden in the LHS courtyard.  There are five granite pillars in the garden, representing the branches of the armed forces.  The names of three alumni are on the respective pillars:

Air Force 2nd Lt. Peter Sohme (Class of 2006),

Marine Lance Cpl. Peter J. Sora, Jr. (Class of 2002)

Marine Pvt. 1st Class Eric Currier (Class of 2010).

Londonderry High School is fairly young, established only in 1978.  Previous classes of students from Londonderry attended Derry's Pinkerton Academy.  Although there are only the names of three students on this honor roll, it is sad to think that in the near future many more names will be enrolled here.
