Update on the First Parish Meetinghouse in Derry, New Hampshire

You can see the new steeple top rising in the scaffolding next to the tower of the renovated First Parish Meetinghouse in East Derry.  If you look close you can even see the bell installed inside!

This meetinghouse is the same parish founded in 1719 by Rev. James MacGregor of Aghadowey, Northern Ireland.  He gave his first sermon on the banks of Beaver Lake on 12 April 1719, after leading his flock from Ireland to New England.

It will be exciting to see this structure raised up and installed on top of the tower section of the meetinghouse. This will happen in late April or early May after the Founders Weekend.  For more information on this project, please see the following websites:

The Nutfield History website "FPC Meetinghouse Rehabilitation"

Some fantastic drone video of this project as the crane places the lantern on top of the steeple!
