Tombstone Tuesday ~ John and Sarah Palmer, Derry, New Hampshire

John Palmer was born 6 June 1754 in Bradford, Massachusetts, and died 14 April 1834 in Derry, New Hampshire; married 18 January 1788 in Bradford to Sarah Harriman.  They had eight children:  John, Jr., Moses Harriman, Nathaniel, Stephen, Samuel, Thomas Jefferson, Sarah, and Moody Morse Palmer.  John answered the Lexington Alarm from Bradford, Massachusetts in 1775 as a minute man in Capt. Nathaniel Gage’s company, Frye’s Regiment.  John Palmer was the son of Andrew Palmer and Jemima Hardy, married on 6 December 1732 in Bradford, Massachusetts.


Sarah “Sally” Harriman was born 8 March 1765 in Bradford, the daughter of Moses Harriman and Jane Hale.  She died 27 April 1834 in Derry, two weeks after her husband died.  Her father, Lieutenant Moses Harriman, was the son of Nathaniel Harriman and Sarah Page.  Her mother, Jane Hale, was the daughter of Samuel Hale and Sarah Haseltine of Bradford, Massachusetts.

  1. There was an estate sale in Hancock this weekend of the wife? Of H A Palmer....the wife a Meyer of NY. There were SO many nice family photos. Thought I would see if there is anyone interested or know of a photo website
