Dear friends for us, don't Mourn nor weep,
We are not dead but here do sleep;
Upon our easy bed of Clay,
Untill the resurrection day.

John Burns was born in County Donegal, Ireland of Scots ancestry.  He came to Bedford with his first wife, Ann, who died one year after they arrived.

The Ann with the missing date is Anna McQuesten, daughter of William McQuestion and Margaret Arbuckle of Litchfield, New Hampshire.  Ann McQuesten was born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland.  She died in 1790.  They had ten children together.
