This letter was written to my great aunt Eunice by my Great Grandfather, Arthur Treadwell Hitchings. She would have been about 25 years old at the time. I don’t know what he was doing in Vermont, probably on vacation? He was a draftsman and shoe designer for the United Shoe Corporation in Beverly, Massachusetts at the time, and perhaps it was a business trip? I never knew him, but I guess he loved to be punctual! Look at all the detailed timetable information he included in his little letter.
