Photo Friday ~ Flowers in Skagway, Alaska

The little sign reads:  "I used to love my garden but now my love is dead,
I found a bachelor's button in Black Eyed Susan's bed."

Imagine how big this cabbage would be by fall!

In Alaska the veggies and flowers grow as big as Volkswagon Beatles because the sun only sets for a few hours during the summmer.  All those long, warm days make it a gardening curiosity.

  4. Those photos are awesome! And what a fun garden. Alaska is an amazing place. I had the pleasure of speaking up in Anchorage last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also learned about all that they grow and handn't before even thought about the daylight hours and how much that would affect things.
