Captain Jonathan Sparrow married Rebecca Bangs on 26 October 1654. She was the sister to my 8x great grandfather Jonathan Bangs (1644 - 1728). His other wife, Hannah Prince/Prence, was the granddaughter of William Brewster (1566/7 - 1644), a passenger on the Mayflower.

My first thought when I saw this was "Jack Sparrow" - before I even saw your opening comment. Great minds! My connection is Lydia, sister to Rebecca, is my 8X gg. Also among my undocumented secondary source resource information is that Jonathan married third, hence the reference to "his first two wives" to Sarah Lewis, widow of James Cobb. Sarah & James are my 8X great grandparents. Thanks for posting the pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting these pics. I am pretty sure they're not my husband's ancestors. Sparrow seems to be a somewhat common last name. But maybe I'll check it out anyway.
