Richard Wilkinson was my Dad's brother, the middle brother of the three Wilkinson boys. The last time they all were together was in 2001 when Uncle Richard came to visit for one of his Beverly High School reunions. This photo shows the three of them all laughing, telling jokes and teasing each other as usual. My Dad died the following year.
Last year I visited with Uncle Richard, Auntie Luanne and my cousins in Long Beach, California just before the Southern California Genealogy Society Jamboree. I'm glad we had the chance to go out there and see him. He was the last Wilkinson of his generation.
Richard Albert Wilkinson, son of Donald Munroe Wilkinson and Bertha Louise Roberts, was born on 9 May 1932 in Beverly, Massachusetts, and died at Long Beach, California on 25 February 2015. He will be buried at the Westminister Memorial Park, the same cemetery as his parents. He was a social studies teacher, and loved American History. He taught for over 50 years, and his last American History class was in December 2014. Richard was also a US Army Veteran. He had three children with his wife of 57 years, and they all live in California.
