July 3, Sunday, 10am, Colonial Style Worship Service, at the Trinity Church, 80 Route 125, Kingston, New Hampshire.  Communion liturgy from the Book of Common Prayer, 1662 edition, hymns by Henry Purcell, a psalm sung to "metric tune" Puritan style, and Puritan hymns from Boston composer William Billings. Prayers for King George III will be offered, and also the singing of America's first national anthem (which pre-dates "The Star Spangled Banner" by 40 years).  For the sermon, several New Hampshire lawmakers will read portions of the spiritual reflections of the founders.  1770 refreshments, and a cannon salute, too!  Following the service there will be educational opportunities and crafts from the volunteers at the American Independence Museum in Exeter, New Hampshire. 

July 4, Monday, 10am – 5pm, An American Celebration! At Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. An old fashioned 4th of July, with children’s bike and wagon parade, field day for families, games and crafts.  Children under 17 free thanks to a donation from BAE Systems.  Veterans Free all day, too.  Active military and their families are free at all times through the Blue Star Museum program. www.strawberybanke.org 

July 4, Monday, An 1830 Independence Day Celebration at Old Sturbridge Village, Sturbridge, Massachusetts.  Celebrate the old fashioned way with a reading of the Declaration of Independence (including a giant reproduction for you to sign), make a tricorner hat, drill with the militia, learn dances and visit the village.  www.OSV.org

July 6, Wednesday, 6:30 pm,  Liberty is Our Motto:  Songs and Stories of the Hutchinson Family Singers, at the Lane Memorial Library,  2 Academy Avenue, Hampton, New Hampshire.  A living history presentation by Steve Blunt about the most noted musical entertainers of the 19th century, whose songs advanced social reform and political causes such as abolition, temperance, women’s suffrage and the Lincoln presidential campaign of 1860.  Free to the public.
