Weathervane Wednesday ~ Two unique animals from Carson City, Nevada

Weathervane Wednesday is an on-going series of photographs I post weekly.  I started out by publishing only weather vanes from the Londonderry area, but now I've been finding interesting weather vanes from all over New England.  Sometimes these weather vanes are whimsical, or historical, but all are very unique.  Often, my readers tip me off to some very special and unusual weather vanes.

Today there are TWO weathervanes from Nevada!  These are the first weather vanes I have featured from Nevada.

Do you know the weather vanes in post #266?  Scroll down to see the answer...

Weathervane #1

Weathervane #2

Both of these photos were sent to me by genealogist Mary Urquhart Hasselmann, who lives in Carson City, Nevada but grew up in New England.  She said "The moose is on a wooden gazebo in the backyard of a house across the street from my sister.  The quail  (there's lots and lots of real quails running around here) is on a private residence."

I really love the moose with it's rusty patina and three dimensional antlers.  I've seen many moose weathervanes here in New Hampshire, but this is one of the best!   And this is the first quail weathervane I've seen photographed.

Good work, Mary!
