Do you have an interest in genealogy? Do you have ancestors in New England? Would you like to come to a major conference
for just a day, or for the whole weekend?
You might be interested in attending the New England Regional Genealogy
Conference at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts later this
month. www.nergc.org
Wednesday April 26th is a special pre-conference
day with several tracks. There is a “Beginning
DNA Day” sponsored by FamilyTreeDNA, “Professional Genealogist Day” sponsored
by Excelsior College, “Librarian’s Day” sponsored by ProQuest, and a “Genealogy
Society Management Day”. Wednesday is
also “Technology Day” with two tracks for beginners and advanced
researchers. There are also four Wednesday workshops, and
no conference registration is required to attend!
The conference runs from Thursday to Saturday, April 27th
– 29th. There are over 90
lectures and presentations, as well as banquets, luncheon speakers, special
workshops (with limited registration, sign up soon!), and special interest groups. The featured speakers at this conference will
be F. Warren Bittner, Kenyatta D. Berry, and Thomas MacEntee. Attendees will have the chance to hear from
professional genealogists, authors, historians and archivists from all over the
United States.
