Today's weathervane was photographed in Milford, New Hampshire. This three dimensional train engine is above the former B&M railroad station (and before that the "Fitchburg Railroad") at 178 South Main Street. The building is now the United Auto Body business.
1905 Postcard of this train station in Milford, New Hampshire
This train station was built on the Brookline & Milford Railroad, known as the Fitchburg Line. The station was built in 1894. This railroad carried passengers and cargo trains for the granite that was mined in blocks in Milford, where there were 15 commercial quarries. This line stopped running cargo in 1926, and the last train ran in 1931.
