Timothy Kendall was the grandson of Jacob Kendall and Alice Hassell. Jacob Kendall is my 1st cousin 10 generations removed. Jacob's grandparents, John Kendall (1580 - 1660) and Margaret Sacherell, are my 10x great grandparents. They were early settlers of Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the area now known as Kendall Square (near the Massachusetts Institute of Technology- MIT).

Another cousin connection!
ReplyDeleteI am seeking information on the names of children of Timothy and either of his wives. In particular, I am looking to confirm my suspicion that my ancestor Polly Kendall was his daughter. (Her name at birth was probably not Polly - perhaps Mary?) She would have been born in or around 1778. She married Elijah West of Bradford NH and they named their first born son Timothy Kendall West. But I hate to use that one fact as "proof" that she is Timothy's daughter. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! And also, thank you for posting this picture.
ReplyDeleteSally Kendall, daughter of Lt. Timothy Kendall, and grand-daughter of James Walker (original settler of Bedford, N.H.) is mentioned in James Walker's will.
DeleteI note in my 5th great-grandfather's will, "I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Sally Kendel, daughter of Lieut. Timothy Kendel, of Lytchfield, County of Hillsboro in the State of New Hampshire, the sum of three pounds lawful money to be paid her when she comes to the age of twenty one years..." The will was probated on 1 Aug 1786. His wife, in the will, is "Esther" Goff. I'd like to know more about Elizabeth Harrison. --John DeWolfe Walker ; johndewolfewalker@gmail.com
